As you are all aware, there have been a number of issues which have delayed announcement of team selection for this event. These have now been resolved.
Making team selections is rarely easy, and it has certainly been difficult on this occasion. Having been at the other end of the team selection process on numerous occasions in the past, I know how disappointed some of you will be, so commiserations to those that have not been selected on this occasion.

The above named Charity which has helped, and is helping, some of our younger fencers has issued a letter to all Welsh Governing Bodies inviting applications for possible Grant Aid. The closing date for applications will be the 30th November 2008.
The contact name is Linda Chamberlain-Jones, Grants Administrator on 029-208322 or 01353-777998, e-mail SportsAid@F2s.com.
Priority for these awards will go to those of 18years and under, though others may be considered. Applications received after this date will not be considered for a further 12 months.

Selection for this years Cadet Winton team will be made as soon as possible after the Welsh Open. Selection will be in accordance with the published criteria. |

The fencing season is defined as running from 1st September to the 31st Aug each year.
A child has to be 13 years old, or older, on the datum line of Jan 1st, during that season, to fence against over 18's in that season.

Commencing season 2008-9, the names of entrants' entries received for Welsh fencing events with be published on the Welsh Fencing Webste following the closing date for that event.
Entrants not on the list will be accepted on payment of a late entry surcharge of £4.00 per event.
Welsh fencing do not acknowledge receipt of entries. |
